06 Why Peastgate
We combine on-the-ground operational support in China with clear, transparent communication for international buyers.
Time zone gaps and language friction are the two most common causes of specification drift and schedule slippage. Being on the ground removes both.
Our compensation is the service fee we agree with you. Any supplier-side commission or referral fee that could affect supplier selection is disclosed in writing before the decision.
There is no lock-in. Scope is confirmed per project, and you can extend or reduce it as your needs change.
A written scope states what Peastgate does, what we coordinate externally, and what you retain. No blurred lines.
You only pay for specialist services when your project actually needs them, and the provider is chosen for the product category.
07 Modular service plans
Peastgate offers modular support for different stages of the China purchasing process. Choose a focused service for one stage of your project or discuss a broader coordination scope for ongoing purchasing activity.
Complex, urgent, technical, multi-supplier, travel-related, or specialist projects may require a separate quotation.
Plans show starting fees for clearly defined scopes. All figures are in US dollars (USD). The final service fee depends on product complexity, number of suppliers, order volume, technical requirements, location, required reporting, factory visits, and external specialist services. Peastgate confirms the scope and fee before work begins.
Product costs, tooling, samples, inspection fees, laboratory fees, travel, freight, customs duties, taxes, and other third-party charges are separate from Peastgate's service fee. Customers normally pay the selected manufacturer and approved providers directly. Any alternative payment arrangement must be agreed in writing before work begins.
Peastgate's service fee is normally agreed and invoiced before the relevant project phase begins. Larger or multi-stage projects may use milestone billing. Payment timing, cancellation terms, and any approved third-party costs are confirmed in the written project scope.
You pay the selected manufacturer or supplier directly for your products. Peastgate charges a separate service fee for the China-side research, communication, purchasing coordination, and operational support included in the agreed scope.

No. Peastgate is neither a trading company nor a reseller. We do not purchase products for resale, hold inventory, or act as an intermediary buyer. You purchase directly from the manufacturer or supplier you select, and we support your China-side procurement process.
Yes. Many clients already have an established or prospective supplier in China and engage Peastgate strictly for bilingual communication, sample coordination, production milestone follow-up, or third-party inspection coordination.
Peastgate coordinates specifications, milestones, and inspections but does not guarantee manufacturer or supplier performance, leaving final product approval and payment decisions solely with the buyer.
Peastgate assists with inspection criteria and logistics coordination, while formal on-site quality inspections and accredited laboratory tests are performed by qualified independent third-party agencies and certified labs.
Peastgate coordinates export documentation and liaises with freight forwarders, while international shipping, customs clearance, and importer-of-record responsibilities are handled by licensed providers and the customer.
While online directories make finding supplier names simple, communicating technical details, reviewing available business information, clarifying commercial terms, and following up on production schedules in China can be challenging from abroad. Peastgate provides on-the-ground, bilingual coordination to keep your orders on track and provide real-time visibility.
Our transparent service fee covers China-based supplier research, bilingual communication, quotation comparison, specification clarification, sample and revision coordination, production milestone follow-up, and coordination with inspection and logistics partners.
We handle all supplier communication in Chinese, acting as your voice on the ground. From reviewing quotations and clarifying drawings to negotiating terms, we manage the complex China-side interactions so you do not have to.
No. Peastgate does not act as the importer of record, buyer of record, or funds intermediary. Customers retain direct relationships and payments with their selected manufacturers or suppliers.
Peastgate charges a separate service fee agreed with the customer for the China-side research, communication, purchasing coordination, and operational support provided. The fee is normally agreed and invoiced before the relevant project phase begins.
Peastgate works across consumer goods, electronics, machinery, building materials, apparel and textiles, furniture, promotional products, and other categories. Scope depends on product complexity, supplier landscape, and required specialist providers.
Timeline varies by scope. Supplier research and quotation comparison usually take one to three weeks for a defined product category. Production coordination follows the manufacturer's lead time. Peastgate provides a written timeline in the project scope.
Factory visits and supplier meetings can be arranged as part of a broader coordination scope. Travel-related or multi-site visits may require a separate quotation.
Peastgate confirms scope and deliverables in writing before work begins. If expectations diverge, we discuss adjustments to scope, timeline, or deliverables with the customer before proceeding.
